About Shalom

SHAring LOve Mission

Aim

In our own Country “Bharat” more than 8 crores of people are Adivasis who belong to more than 400 tribal groups.  Of these the Bhil Adivasis are the 3rd largest group numbering more than one crore.  It  is our endeavour to take the gospel of Christ to these people and build His Church.

The beginning of the Mission

Bro. V. Devadoss and his wife      Sis. Vahitha Devadoss had a calling from God to serve among the unreached in the northern part of our nation.  When they prayed together fervently saying ,”Give us Oh  Lord, one whole tribe of people in our life time for your Glory”, God took them among the Bhil Tribe and guided them to realize their vision.

According to God’s leading, on 28.12.90 this Missionary couple Bro. V. Devadoss and Sis.  Vahitha Devadoss  were dedicated by Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus [Jesus Redeems] Nalumavadi, Thoothukudi Dist, Tamil Nadu during the Fasting Prayer Meeting called Thirappin Vasal Jebam. After sufficient preparations they started their missionary work in the Mission Field on 1.7.1991.

Bhil Native Evangelist

It is a God - given vision and burden that the entire Bhil Tribes numbering 78 lakhs must be met by their own tribal people.  To realize this great vision, God has raised a large number of dedicated  native Evangelists who have a personal experience of salvation and baptism of the Holyspirit and the Evangelists are committed to the vision of evangelising their own Tribes. Praise God  430 native Adivasi Bhil families have joined our Mission as full time ministers after having received training in our Bible School.

Village Churches

All praise to be our Almighty God. Many thousands of souls have accepted Christ Jesus as their personal saviour  and they have joined the church after being baptized.  They worship the Lord in 620 Villages every week.  220 village Churches have been built and 20 more are under construction.

Other Mission activities

  • Special revival meetings and discipleship training camps are conducted for the believers and the elders of the church.

  • The Mission has a Bible School to train the native evangelists.
